Abbot

Venerable Choje Lama Shedrup is the abbot and founder of the Palpung centres in New Zealand and Australia. He was born in Tibet and completed the traditional three year retreat under Khabje Kalu Rinpoche. Following the wishes of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa and the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa, Ven. Choje Lama Shedrup traveled to New Zealand and Australia to establish dharma centers and teach.

Resident Teachers

Venerable Lama Karma Dorjey Venerable Lama Karma Dorjey was ordained as a novice monk in 1979 joined Palpung Sherab Ling Monastic Seat in India where he received a complete monastic education and was well accomplished in all subjects including ritual texts, ritual music and making sand mandalas.

He later received full ordination from Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa and received many of the Karma Kagyu lineage empowerments, reading transmissions and teachings (including the entire transmission of the five treasures of Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye) over many years from Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, His Eminence Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche and the Very Venerable Saljey Rinpoche.

He completed a traditional Karma Kagyu three year retreat at Palpung Sherab Ling with the Very Venerable Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche as retreat master.

He was appointed and served for many years as discipline master of Palpung Sherab Ling Monastic Seat where he accumulated great experience running the sangha community.

Due to his great dedication, capability and knowledge of dharma and potential to benefit students, in early 2012 Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa appointed him resident Lama of Palpung Auckland.

Venerable Lama Karma Dorjey

Venerable Lama Tsewang Lhakpa earned the degree of master after extensive study at the institute of Buddhist studies at Palpung Sherabling and completed the traditional three year retreat under Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa at Palpung Sherabling. In 2009 Kenting Tai Situpa appointed him resident Lama for the Palpung centre in Tasmania, Australia.
